Supervises operations and staff engaged in group and/or individual health insurance enrollment, premium billing and reconciliation-related activities.

Responsibilities

•Provides day to day supervision of operations and staff to meet production standards and regulatory requirements. Provides technical expertise and guidance and resolves complex or escalated issues. Participates in the selection and retention of staff, provides and/or supports training, mentors, and conducts performance reviews and disciplinary actions.

•Identifies problem areas and implements improvements in systems, training, business processes, and policies. Creates, updates and/or implements operational changes, quality controls, system modifications and documentation (including desk procedures, forms, templates, reports and training content) in response to regulatory changes, process improvements, and annual changes to product offerings.

•Maintains subject matter expertise in health and life insurance programs and enrollment rules. Reviews and interprets relevant regulatory memos, seasonal file changes, and compliance guidance to support management in identifying impacts to operations and systems.

•Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Education and Experience:

•Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare or Business Administration or related field or the equivalent combination of training/education and experience.

•7 years progressive health insurance operations experience, primarily in enrollment/billing, and preferably in a leadership capacity.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

•Advanced knowledge of health insurance enrollment, payment reconciliation and premium billing processes, regulations and standard accounting procedures.

•Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office and database reporting skills.

•Ability to write policies, procedures, forms, templates and other documents that are compliant with Federal laws.
