About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ramp Operations Manager to join our team at PrimeFlight Aviation Services. As a key member of our airport operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient handling of aircraft and ground services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage ramp supervisors and staff to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines.
  • Coordinate with airline representatives, air traffic control, and ground services to facilitate smooth aircraft turnarounds.
  • Implement safety and operational policies, conduct regular inspections of ramp equipment and vehicles, and maintain records and documentation as required by DOT regulations.
  • Develop and enforce procedures for aircraft loading and unloading, monitor ramp activities to ensure safe handling of cargo and baggage, and address and resolve operational issues and incidents on the ramp.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ramp staff in DOT safety practices, liaise with airport authorities and regulatory bodies on compliance matters, and oversee the maintenance and repair of ramp equipment to meet DOT standards.
  • Develop training programs to enhance staff knowledge of DOT regulations, prepare reports and analyses on ramp operations and DOT compliance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance ramp safety and efficiency.
Requirements
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in ramp operations or ground handling, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of airport operations and safety regulations.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents.
  • Ability to use electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices.
  • Effectively communicate both in-person and through electronic means.
  • Pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).
  • Ability to work any day/shift, including holidays, within a 24/7 operation.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Prolonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicable.
  • Must be able to push, pull, crawl, bend, stretch, squat, and work at elevated heights.
  • Exposure to moderate and at times high noise levels.
  • Exposure to Biohazards and/or Chemicals.
  • Exposure to outdoor elements.
  • Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms.
  • Tasks may involve repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
