Role Overview:
The Buyer must perform operational functions supporting the buying team as well as analysis supplier trends. Perform various clerical duties as needed. Responsible for confirming material has shipped, securing tracking numbers, as well as supporting functional areas.
On a typical day you will:
Working with the supplier to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any back ordered or missing material.
Create Purchase Orders in accordance with requisitions and contractual requirements.
Expedite material as needed, negotiating and working changes within Supply Chain. Ensure inventory goals and objectives are met.
Strategic planning/thinking skills coupled with analytical and execution skills.
Work with engineering to plan and issue the material for their prototypes.
Knowledge of, or experience with, lean manufacturing systems/processes and JDE configuration)
Must be able to work within a team atmosphere and contribute by applying their acquired functional knowledge to daily business demands.
Experience with Excel and/or other data manipulation programs.
Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of management required (Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook).
Qualifications/Experience
Minimum Education: High School Degree
Preferred Education: Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree
Minimum Experience: Ten years of manufacturing experience, Knowledge of elevator industry and/or field operations is highly desirable

Additional Essential Job Requirements
Comply with all EH&S policies and regulations including wearing proper PPE at all times.
Attend Continuous Improvement (CI) Superday Training within the first year
Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
Walking, balancing, lifting (maximum 35 pounds). Must be able to wear/use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment. Mental requirements include, but are not limited to, the ability to concentrate, take initiative, and to cope with stress, and be able to self-inspect and take responsibility for quality of own work.
