Buyer Role Overview: The Buyer must perform operational functions supporting the buying team as well as analysis supplier trends. Perform various clerical duties as needed. Responsible for confirming material has shipped, securing tracking numbers, as well as supporting functional areas. On a typical day you will: Working with the supplier to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any back ordered or missing material. Create Purchase Orders in accordance with requisitions and contractual requirements. Expedite material as needed, negotiating and working changes within Supply Chain. Ensure inventory goals and objectives are met. Strategic planning/thinking skills coupled with analytical and execution skills. Work with engineering to plan and issue the material for their prototypes. Knowledge of, or experience with, lean manufacturing systems/processes and JDE configuration) Must be able to work within a team atmosphere and contribute by applying their acquired functional knowledge to daily business demands. Experience with Excel and/or other data manipulation programs. Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of management required (Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook).
