Plans and manages grantmaking processes, scholarship awards, and programs for Educate Fairfax, the education foundation, which provides funding and resources to students, staff, schools, and the FCPS community; manages grants and Educate Fairfax programs that align with the foundation's priorities and supports the FCPS strategic plan.

Qualifications

Required
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in business administration, nonprofit management, finance, public relations, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of related experience in developing and implementing programs, grant writing, development, and grant management.
  • Knowledge of the theory, methods, and principles of fiscal management, budget analysis, grant management, and procurement.
  • Knowledge of related laws, regulations, and policies that govern grant administration.
  • Knowledge of grant requirements, grantmaking processes, scholarship applications, and review and award processes.
  • Knowledge and ability to use technology and computerized information systems to obtain, review, and report data to ensure proper use of funds, and create required records.
  • Skill in event planning, creating successful programs, and public relations.
  • Ability to develop, plan, and manage grantmaking and award programs.
  • Ability to conduct research and collect documentation independently.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups.
  • Ability to effectively use automated financial systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
  • Master's degree
  • Experience with grants management and program development in a non-profit organization.
  • Experience in fundraising or philanthropy.
  • Experience in educational leadership.
  • Knowledge of Fairfax County business community and FCPS
