Westminster University Director, Alumni Relations Full Time, Benefited Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Alumni Relations is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage and cultivate relationships with alumni and members of the broader community of Westminster University. The director’s role is essential to fostering a loyal alumni community while leveraging their support and involvement to benefit the institution. This position requires an experienced non-profit professional with a vision to provide engagement opportunities to a growing alumni population of more than 25,000 who seek a stronger connection to the university through volunteer development, event experience, mentorship, and advocacy. The director staffs the Alumni Board, coordinates regional and affinity alumni volunteers, supervises the manager of advancement events, and serves on various campus committees. The Director of Alumni Relations reports to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages two full-time staff members, including the Manager of Advancement Events and the Associate Director of Alumni Engagement Coordinates management of 1-4 student interns and workers Develops and executes a comprehensive alumni relations program that effectively engages and cultivates relationships with alumni Directs activity with the Alumni Board and alumni regional and affinitycommittees, to coordinate committee work and activity that ensures productive relationships with members of the Westminster community Collaborates with campus partners to facilitate alumni involvement in student mentorship programs, guest speaking opportunities, and career development initiatives Plans, implements, and promotes signature alumni events with volunteers and campus partnerswith updated purpose statements, goals, and evaluation tools Create and distribute regular communications, such as newsletters and email updates, to keep alumni informed about news, events, and opportunities related to the organization Participates as a contributor to Westminster’s alumni magazine, the Westminster Review Tracks and evaluates the success of alumni programming and engagement efforts through metrics such as event attendance, participation rates, and alumni feedback Manages the alumni relations and events budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to support engagement activities and initiatives Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree Demonstrated success in fostering productive relationships with volunteers and developing volunteer leadership Strong interpersonal skillsand ability to initiate and enjoy direct communication with alumni, and other members of the community Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to work in a team environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed Excellentmultitasking and time management skills; ability to be self-directed and motivatedto set goals, establish accountability measures, and track progress toward goals Professionalism, maturity, and an ability to maintain confidentiality Preferred Qualifications: Experience as analumni relations professional inhigher education setting Master’s degree
