Overview of the Fixed Assets Accountant:

  • The Fixed Assets Accountant will maintain, analyze, and check Fixed Assets Account for accuracy
  • Analyze actual to budget variances
  • Calculate the depreciation of fixed assets and report in journal entries
  • Create tags to label assets
  • Maintain and update sales unit prices and Tooling Inventory List as necessary
  • Reclassify journal entries from Progress Account to Fixed Assets Account
  • Manage asset discontinuations, transfers, disposals, and sales
  • Complete journal entries and reports, such as Roll Forward and Capital Spending Plans
  • Conduct quarterly internal auditing of samples and inventory
  • Provide assistance and data to external auditors as necessary
  • Work closely with other Accounting personnel to ensure accuracy
  • Provide support work for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Assist with completion of monthly journal entry file and account reconciliation
  • Perform physical inventory for fixed assets

Preferred Qualifications for the Fixed Asset Accountant:

  • 3+ years' experience in Fixed Assets is required
  • Must have manufacturing Fixed Assets experience
  • Sage Accounting Software experience is strongly preferred
  • Journal entry experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • General accounting experience
