Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Schaumburg, Illinois. The role involves overseeing the general ledger, performing detailed account reconciliations, coordinating and executing month-end and year-end closing activities, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Conduct detailed reconciliations of various accounts, including bank statements and accounts payable and receivable
• Coordinate and execute month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing key insights to support financial planning
• Facilitate internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, assisting with their training and development
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements, and develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets
• Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analyses as required, providing financial insights and recommendations
• Handle confidential and business sensitive data with professionalism and integrity
• Work independently or collaboratively as part of a team to diagnose and resolve accounting problems
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills
• Possess strong interpersonal skills which includes effectively communicating with employees, vendors, and customers
• Remain flexible and adapt to changing environments
• Maintain high energy and a positive attitude on a regular basis
• Identify and solve customer issues and problems.• Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant with a minimum of 5 years in the field
• Demonstrated expertise in Account Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger management
• Ability to perform Journal Entries accurately and efficiently
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial data analysis
• Experience in Month End Close procedures
• Familiarity with WIP - Work In Progress accounting practices
• Experience in Inventory Accounting
• Proficiency with Salesforce Commerce Cloud for financial data management
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• CPA or relevant qualification is a plus.
