Position Summary: The duties of the Staff Accountant include a variety of accounting functions. This position will assist with the monthly close, maintain records, analyze data, file reports, assist with the year-end audit, and ensure monthly tax compliance. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter who is passionate about growing an international software company. As Staff Accountant, you will report to the SVP Operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger Daily cash reporting and reconciliations Prepare and post monthly general ledger journal entries Maintain general ledger account reconciliations Assist with the monthly close process, including a detailed review of accounts Provide support during year-end audit Record, maintain, and reconcile fixed assets and related depreciation accounts Prepare property tax returns Calculate monthly commissions Serve as a backup to accounts payable and accounts receivable when necessary Review sales and use tax returns, prepare 1099s and other external reports Maintenance of sales and use tax records Other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum of 2 - 4 years of accounting experience Proficiency with spreadsheet platforms (Excel, Google Sheets, etc.) is mid- to expert-level. Experience with complex formulas, lookups, etc., is desirable. In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles Must be a self-starter and adaptable/comfortable in an evolving environment Strong analytical skills, independence, and curiosity. We are a team of innovators, and seek someone willing to challenge the status quo and is willing to devise and drive new initiatives Excellent problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills CPA Certification is a plus Square 9 runs on Netsuite. Experience with Netsuite is desirable but not required. Experience with some enterprise ERP is required (Netsuite, Dynamics, Acumatica, Sage, etc.) Report-building experience is highly desirable.
