As a CRA Mortgage Loan Officer your day will be filled with opportunities to generate loan volume through sales efforts focusing on low to moderate income areas and borrowers in Central Kentucky. In addition to standard secondary market products we have great portfolio products to offer, including a competitive portfolio product geared towards first time homebuyers allowing for up to 100% loan to value. Experience in lending is essential to function successfully in this position while knowledge of basic underwriting guidelines is preferred. Good communication skills are important to better serve our customers as you work closely with all parties involved.

Responsibilities

Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform essential duties and responsibilities within designated market of Jefferson County/Louisville MSA with an emphasis on low to moderate income areas and borrowers
  • Work to achieve satisfactory CRA rating in designated market
  • Aggressively pursue contact with individuals, realtors, builders, non-profit organizations, and advocates, to expand network contacts and relationships to generate sales
  • Participate in business development activities outside of the office, such as realtor open houses, homebuyer seminars, financial literacy opportunities, church groups, trade shows, as well as community development activities
  • Engage in marketing and promotional activities, such as lunch and learn presentations to groups and membership in civic organizations in an effort to generate sales
  • Consult with customer to compile a fully completed loan application in order to meet compliance guidelines while negotiating terms and conditions
  • Collect, compile and analyze information for acceptability for approval for loan product
  • Communicate with clients and potential clients, answering questions andproviding information, acting as the primary point of contact from sale to closing
  • Work diligently with all of mortgage operations (Setup, Mortgage Compliance, Underwriters, Processors, and Closers) to facilitate a loan transaction
  • Create a collaborative partnership with your processor to ensure an efficient and expedient loan process
  • Expand partnerships as requested by the Director of Community Engagement and Outreach
  • Keep Regional Lending Sales Manager abreast of all CRA projects and strategies educational classes, correspondence courses, on the job training and investor web sites
  • Outside sales:Employee is expected to perform duties with limited supervision. Due to the nature of this position, loan demand and customer convenience, employee is often called upon to work evening hours and week-ends.
Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • High school/GED education
  • College degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of outside sales experience with FHA, VA, and conventional lending
  • Employees are expected to represent Stock Yards Bank & Trust in a professional manner to customers and outside contacts.
  • Employees must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, consisting of the ability to write and speak effectively to others. Employees must be a productive team player, with the ability to learn, apply training and comprehend policies and procedures. Employees should also be flexible to changing working situations and able to meet deadlines as they arise.
  • PC Literacy with 35 WPM typing skills
  • Knowledge of basic underwriting guidelines preferred
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Excellent sales and negotiating skills, and assertiveness
  • Ability to perform in high pressure situations
