This role involves a lot of control systems design, implementation, and optimization. Responsibilities: • Develop and implement control strategies for various processes, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.• Program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to control and monitor equipment.• Design and maintain Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems to monitor and control manufacturing processes.• Specify and configure instrumentation devices, ensuring accurate measurements and adherence to industry standards.• Manage and maintain the Distributed Control System (DCS), including regular inspections, troubleshooting, and software upgrades.• Develop, update, and maintain DCS screens to ensure a clear and user-friendly interface for monitoring and controlling the manufacturing processes.• Develop and implement an alarm system philosophy, ensuring that alarm systems are designed, configured, and maintained to industry best practices and standards.• Establish and steward performance metrics through KPIs related to control system reliability and effectiveness, alarm system effectiveness, and overall operational efficiency.• Collaborate with process engineers to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements through control system enhancements.• Develop and maintain emergency shutdown systems to ensure a rapid and controlled response to critical situations.• Create and update technical documentation, including control system specifications, diagrams, manuals, and records of DCS maintenance, upgrades, and screen developments.• Ensure that all control systems, alarm systems, and DCS screens adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards, particularly those related to safety and environmental regulations.Requirements• Possess a strong understanding of PLC Control and PLC Programming• Proficient with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems• Familiarity with Distributed control systems is necessary• Experience with Siemens S7 is a plus• Ability to work effectively as a part of a team• Strong problem-solving skills• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal• Strong organizational and time management skills• Ability to work independently and make decisions under minimal supervision• Willingness to continually update knowledge and skills• Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is required• Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial• Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.Job typePerm
