**Position Overview**

Protective Insurance is seeking an experienced Claims Adjuster II to join its Workers Compensation Claims Department in Carmel, Ind. This individual will effectively review indemnity claims and determine appropriate action for resolution.

**Primary Duties**

* Manage desk- and caseload of at least 125 135 claims in an efficient and professional manner

* Investigate claims thoroughly, including coverage, liability and exposure

* Evaluate exposures and maintain accurate and timely reserves on all files

* Control and manage litigation issues

* Evaluate claims for settlement and negotiate with claimants and attorneys to resolve claims in an appropriate and timely manner

* Control and manage medical issues

* Evaluate claims for resolution

* Keep claim files documented and updated at all times

* Ensure that all payments are appropriate, timely and accurate

**Requirements**

* Bachelors degree preferred

* Multi-state commercial claims experience

* Lost time workers compensation claims experience preferred

* Maintain all professional licenses

* Successfully pass tests in states where they are required for license

* Complete required ongoing education credits to maintain license

* Attend training and become proficient with workers compensation statutes for the states that you have been assigned

* Strong oral and written communication skills

* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

* Time management skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency

* Ability to provide professional and friendly customer service
