Vertex Aerospace LLC - Principal Subcontract Specialist - PRINC011732 - Madison, Mississippi This position is for a Principal Subcontract Specialist located in Madison, MS . Summary: Vertex Aerospace LLC, a V2X company, is seeking a Principal Subcontract Specialist who will report to the Senior Subcontract Manager for the Global Training Solutions Portfolio. This position is a 100% onsite role located in Hohenfels, Germany. The Principal Subcontract Specialist will develop subcontract specifications, review work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of services. This role will prepare bid packages, analyze and evaluate proposals, perform price analysis, negotiate subcontract pricing & provisions, perform supplier assessments, prepare/issue purchase order awards, and manage resulting subcontracts of substantial size. Responsibilities also include negotiating and incorporating subcontract modifications and terminations, ensuring compliance with Public Law (FAR/DFAR/AMS), company policies, import/export regulations (ITAR/EAR), and the Davis Bacon Act/SCA. The candidate must be able to manage multiple subcontracts and priorities simultaneously. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide pre and post-award administration of a variety of subcontracts (FP, FPAF, T&M, etc.). Extract requirements from customer Requests for Proposal (RFP) and incorporate them into subcontractor's RFP. Obtain proposals/quotations in compliance with RFP requirements; examine bids/offers and perform price analysis. Verify that subcontractor documents are complete, accurate, and delivered to meet critical deadlines. Negotiate terms and conditions with potential subcontractors. Document and maintain Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR)-compliant files. Maintain and approve supplier progress reports, invoices, and payment records. Assist with identifying, mitigating, and resolving risks and related issues. Advise program personnel on contractual requirements and internal status reporting. Work cooperatively with individuals from other disciplines for seamless subcontract administration. Demonstrate leadership skills within an Integrated Product Team (IPT). Form and maintain strong business relationships with first-tier subcontractors. Assist in the development of Statements of Work for subcontracts. Analyze and extract requirements from V2X prime contracts. Job Specifications or Qualifications: 6+ years of related experience managing subcontracts for complex US Government programs in the Defense Industry. Must be a US Citizen. Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Acquisition Management System (AMS). Experience with various subcontract types, including T&M, Labor Hour, FFP, and FPAF. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to manage complexity and ambiguity. Exemplary written and oral communication skills. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required. Physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors.
