This role will cross-train, assist and support other job functions as needed in order to foster and sustain a strong team environment. They should be comfortable working independently and as a contributing member of a team. Meeting deadlines and attention to detail are critical pieces of this position. Our Loan Support Specialist must embody Pelican's Core Values and provide excellent service in all that they do.

A Day in the Life of a Loan Support Specialist INCLUDES:

  • Preparing titles and paid collateral letters, processing letters of guarantee, and releasing and accepting titles.
  • Eliminating dealer/member fraud by ensuring proper and thorough verification is completed on all loan packages.
  • Verifying, filing, and maintaining lien instruments on secured loans.
  • Monitoring the funding queue at all times to ensure quality and that document preparation is completed in a timely manner.
  • Working with phone, online, and branch lenders to resolve any discrepancies, issues on incorrect documents, or delays in closings.
Loan Support Specialist Skills and qualifications include:
  • A high school education or GED.
  • 3 years of experience in consumer lending.
  • Prior loan processing and loan documentation experience is preferred.
  • Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and member service skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

    • Monday - Friday
      • 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
      • Must be available to work a rotational shift of 8:30 am - 5:30 pm.
  • Travel
    • Travel is rarely necessary for this position.
  • Work Site Location
    • All work will be performed at our beautiful Corporate Campus located at 2675 O'Neal Lane in Baton Rouge, LA.
