About This Role The Senior Accountant is a lead resource for financial reporting and compliance for US government and other key donors. The Senior Accountant collaborates across departments and country offices to develop budget proposals, monitor budget reports, and complete financial analysis. The Senior Accountant also provides technical support globally for budgeting, accounting, and reporting, particularly on grants and other regulatory matters. Required Experience and Education Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field or equivalent relevant work experience. At least 6 years of experience in accounting. Demonstrated experience in working with and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Course work in US Government Grant Rules and Regulations preferred. Experience in Grant Financial Management preferred, but not required. Knowledge of USAID Rules and Regulations preferred, but not required. Primary Responsibilities Act as point person in International OfficeFinance department in the area of grant accounting, reconciliation, analysis and reporting. Provide technical Support to Regional and Country Offices in the areas of Salesforce usage, budgeting, currency translation issues, accounting and reporting. Assist with annual uniform guidance audit to include serving as primary internal resource for audit staff, preparation or collection/review of PBC items, compilation of data, analysis. Prepare and/or analyze complex financial reports for regulatory and funding agencies and/or organizations. Assist with global grant budget process. Responsible for ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. Provide technical support to Country and Regional Offices around monthly reporting, accounting, and fund requests. Other duties as assigned. Required Competencies Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience with complex accounting processes, budgeting and data analysis. Strong analytical, project management and research skills. Experience working with computer-based accounting systems, spreadsheets, and word-processing software. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams). Ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment.
