Position Purpose:

A Software Test Automation Manager is responsible for supervising development projects and leveraging the abilities of their team members to their fullest potential. They will direct, plan and coordinate activities while supervising a team of engineers. The Software Test Automation Manager will balance people management and technical knowledge to deliver products that meet the design specification. The Software Test Automation Manager will monitor, evaluate, and ensure the completion of tasks and projects within the software test automation team. They will assess and hire talent and work to retain talent on the engineering teams.

Education & Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in related fields (Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineer, etc.) is required.
  • 7+ years experience in software development, software test automation, or systems test development required.
  • At least 1 year of management experience required.
  • Experience programing in C#, SQL, and React required.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
  • Set attainable goals for team members to complete projects on time.
  • Ensure timelines are followed by the development group.
  • Ensure appropriate procedures and processes are followed when it comes to software development.
  • Resolve team member performance issues and make revisions when necessary.
  • Represent the software test automation department in meetings.
  • Participate in design control activities.When necessary, maintain and design software primarily in C# but could also participate in coding with SQL, React, LabVIEW
  • Use various software tools on workstations in typical software development environments
  • .Understand software principals, theories and concepts related to software engineering.
  • Object-oriented analysis, design, and programming.
  • Unit testing experience and in-depth knowledge of test-driven development concepts.
  • Design patterns and how to implement them.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging strategies and best practices
  • Support internal and external customers for software in testing and production environments.
  • Manages the activities of the software test automation group.

  • The position is onsite in Plainfield, MI.
