Exempt (Non-Union) POSITION SUMMARY:

Oversee the daily operations of the Logistics and General Freight departments, manage dispatchers, and assist General Manager in maximizing Company’s potential and achieving financial goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Manage and monitor LOG/GFO staff’s personnel activities and adherence to Company’s policies and procedures. Monitor, reinforce and ensure compliance of proper workplace and safety practices for drivers, warehouse crew, and staff daily. Investigate accidents, injuries and incidents to determine root cause, gather and document detailed information, and enforce corrective action if applicable. Direct dispatchers on the implementation of safety education for drivers. Formulate quotes for clients by visiting job sites and assessing what types of equipment, permits and outside resources are required to render service. Conduct daily site inspections of facilities and grounds. Monitor physical inventory by checking incoming and outgoing materials to upkeep inventory control. Understand CBP regulations pertaining to the operation of bonded storage facilities. Perform administrative duties, email correspondence, data entry, and maintaining drivers’ licenses and certifications. Provide back-up support and coverage for direct reports. Perform other projects and duties as assigned by the General Manager. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s in science or administration and 5 years of freight/transportation experience. Or 10 years of freight/transportation experience. Experience/Skills/Knowledge: Excellent management, leadership, and delegation skills. Strong understanding of risk and safety management. Team player with the ability to motivate and encourage others. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and other software applications. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task. Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making abilities. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 5 years of Management/Supervisory experience. General understanding of business practices, strategic planning, budget analysis, and/or HR principles. MENTAL/PHYSICAL/COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS: Complete multiple priorities with time-sensitive deadlines. Work under minimal supervision and high-pressure environments. Apply logic and reasoning to solve complex problems. Use sound judgment and discretion in performing work duties. Requires long periods of sitting at a desk, speaking with various individuals, and frequent use of computers. WORKING CONDITIONS: Indoors, air-conditioned office and outdoor locations. Travel between Company locations on Oahu and client/vendor locations. NORMAL WORK HOURS: Monday – Friday, 6:30a.m. – 5:00p.m. May require working overtime, on weekends, and holidays per direction of PWD General Manager. GUIDELINES: Follows all internal policies and procedures, House and Safety Rules. Execute goals and direction provided by LOG/GFO General Manager.
