Key responsibilities include: Working under general direction and guidance and collaborating with contacts in OE team to explain and interpret information. Contributing to systems and processes changes to achieve operational targets that impact team results. Making minor changes in processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness. Recommending solutions to problems for review. Achieving operational targets that have an impact on overall team results. Working on smaller, less complex projects or task-related activities. Working in a cross-functional team with engineering, production, manufacturing engineering, and procurement, this person is responsible for strategically identifying and tactically implementing improvements of WESCAM product, in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. This role is responsible for ensuring WESCAM’s product is serviceable and has robust processes through its lifecycle. Specific tasks include: Leading and participating in assigned projects related to Service activities within Operations Engineering. Partnering with the Service Frontline ME team to resolve operational technical issues and develop new systems processes. Creating and sustaining operational procedures associated with evaluation, repair, acceptance tests (ATP), or functional tests (FTP) of all products through the service shop floor. Identifying waste in the Service process and creating data-driven improvements utilizing Lean tools such as RCCA, 5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), etc. Supporting the translation of product specifications from engineering to service procedures. Capturing and analyzing data related to estimating accuracy and cycle times related to shop floor throughput. Supporting documentation changes, including service procedures, Work Instructions, and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) authoring. Reviewing change requests generated by engineering and service staff, and implementing changes as required. Supporting any other business priorities as required by Operations Engineering leadership. Skills Required Technical communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be in a co-op engineering program at either the University or College level. Must be well organized, goal-oriented, and detail-oriented. Able to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the organization.
