Vaco is seeking highly skilled Interim Compliance Testing Consultants to join our clients ECORT (Enterprise Control Oversight and Risk Testing) team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing oversight and guidance around controls to the first line of defense within the organization. You will be tasked with planning and executing testing related to compliance with laws and regulations as well as operational risks associated with complex policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute testing of compliance with laws, regulations, and operational risks.
  • Assist in the creation, review, and execution of test steps to identify compliance and operational risks.
  • Provide input and subject matter expertise in areas of testing under the direction of Leads/Directors.
  • Utilize critical thinking and project management skills to aid the ECORT testing team in completing tasks on time.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure comprehensive and efficient testing processes.
Skill Set Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in risk-based testing or auditing techniques, including transactional testing, control testing, reperformance testing, and adherence testing across Finance/Accounting (Chief Financial Office) and/or related enterprise-wide programs.
  • Proven leadership experience (8+ years) in a risk-based testing or auditing program covering areas such as Financial Statements, Corporate Accounting/Finance, Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR), SOX, Bank Call Report, Life Insurance Reserves, and/or Regulation W.
  • In-depth knowledge of key risks applicable to in-scope areas of the Chief Financial Office and related functions.
  • Direct experience within the second or third line of defense, demonstrating a solid understanding of risk management and compliance.
  • Experience at a Financial Institution, Big 4 Accounting Firm, or Internal/External Auditor function.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) are strongly preferred.
