Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering OR
- Technical degree in engineering and 3 years related equivalent education/experience OR
- 10 years related experience in Robotics and Automated equipment
- Pneumatic valve and cylinder sizing
- CAD experience (Solidworks preferred)
- Strong mechanical design aptitude
- Project management
- Fabrication, plumbing, and wiring skills
- Familiarity with automation control systems
- Experience designing automated systems involving robotics and machine vision
- Knowledge of injection molding a plus
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 10 years related equivalent education/experience
- Estimated 5 years of applicable experience
- Proven track record in automation project management and expertise in automation technologies
- Pneumatic valve and cylinder sizing
- CAD experience (Solidworks preferred)
- Strong mechanical design aptitude
- Project management
- Fabrication, plumbing, and wiring skills
- Familiarity with automation control systems
- Experience designing automated systems involving robotics and machine vision
- Knowledge of injection molding
Mechanical:
- Collaborates with the automation team to determine project direction
- Provides designs which ensure operator safety
- Designs: fixtures, robotic cells, and end-of-arm tooling
- Utilizes 3D printing where possible
- Troubleshoots and improves existing equipment's mechanical design
- Performs research, analysis, design and development of lean manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment for new and existing projects 2(5)
- Supports Manufacturing and Production staff to solve technical, quality, and production problems to ensure consistent product flow, and make recommendations to senior staff and/or managers to improve production processes
- Involved in assembly, debug, and validation/qualification of systems
- Collaborates with controls engineers on pneumatic and controls of automated systems
- Uses SolidWorks to design 3D models and create 2D drawings
- Uses an ERP system to enter hours and requisitions, complete repair requests
- Uses Microsoft Office for project documentation
- Creates drawing package for machine fabrication and assembly
- Creates Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs), Product Specific Operating Procedures (PSOPs), and standard training documents
- Trains personnel on SOPs and PSOPs
- Maintains a high level of autonomy and possesses the skill set necessary for the above tasks and responsibilities
- Leads and manages projects and maintains timelines
- Mentors and provides guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Solves complex technical challenges in automation and makes critical design decisions.
- Collaborates with other teams, sets project goals, and drives innovation
