Preferred:

Bachelor's degree preferred: Healthcare related or risk/legal related degree

Preferred: 3 years' work history experience in legal / risk management related field

Summary:
Manages the activities and flow of work related to various lines of insurance and risk management claims/legal matters across the health system. Serves as a liaison between the hospital system, insurance brokers, insurance carriers, hospital claims staff and defense attorneys. Responsible for employed providers professional liability insurance coverage management.

Responsibilities:
Manages various lines of insurance, which includes gathering data and information for renewal applications, managing premium payments, and opening new lines of insurance. Also responsible managing employed physician insurance coverage.

Assists with timely filing of insurance claim notifications to the various carriers. Manages certification of insurance responsibilities. Functions as the liaison between the hospital, the brokers and the claims adjustor.

Supports the management of open claims for various lines of insurance to include professional & general liability matters.

Provides assistance with claims, investigation, discovery, file management and litigation. Provides support to both insurance and claims management staff.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
