Position Overview:
The Cybersecurity Risk Management Specialist plays a crucial role in the development, execution, and upkeep of the organization's information security strategy. This position involves security governance, operational security, risk assessment, staff training, policy formulation, and other vital responsibilities. The selected candidate will report to the Information Security Manager, with guidance from the Chief Information Security Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Information Security Manager in daily operations and strategic planning for the Information Security Team.
- Delegate service requests to Information Security Analysts, ensuring documentation accuracy and providing guidance on ticket management.
- Engage with end-users to identify secure IT solutions, documenting requirements and coordinating resources for implementation.
- Conduct preliminary assessments of Information Security Analysts' performance as part of staff evaluations.
- Oversee the output of Information Security Analysts, ensuring compliance with departmental standards and management expectations.
- Assist in the design and execution of information security risk management initiatives and address identified issues.
- Promote information security awareness across the organization.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and enforcement of information security policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in privacy-security compliance, information security, or IT auditing; or
- A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in similar roles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- At least two (2) years of experience in privacy-security compliance, information security, or IT auditing within a healthcare setting, including one (1) year in a senior or leadership role.
- Possession of one or more certifications such as:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Systems Security Certified Professional (SSCP)
- Healthcare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HCISPP)
- Certified Authorization Professional (CAP)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
- Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)
- Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
- Understanding of data networking, server architecture, data storage, and database management.
- Familiarity with computer hardware, including routers, switches, servers, and workstations.
- Knowledge of mobile device technologies, including laptops and smartphones.
- Experience with layered security solutions such as firewalls, email/web content filtering, data loss prevention, and endpoint protection.
- Working knowledge of federal and state data security regulations, including HIPAA and HITECH.
- Familiarity with third-party information security standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and PCI-DSS.
- Ability to utilize vulnerability management tools for identifying network and application vulnerabilities.
- Experience with SIEM or log correlation tools for security event analysis.
- Strong report writing skills to document issues, risks, and corrective actions.
- Ability to foster professional relationships with management, peers, and staff.
- Capacity to research and stay updated on current information security trends and regulations.
- Effective communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience in supervising the work of others.
- Proficient in conducting inquiries and asking pertinent questions based on circumstances.
