ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES this is not a remote position As the Materials Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of materials management, including purchasing, inventory control, and warehouse management. You will lead a team of professionals, including purchasing department staff, and warehouse team members, to ensure seamless coordination and optimization of materials flow throughout the organization. Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategic plans and objectives for materials management in alignment with company goals and objectives. Oversee the purchasing process, including supplier selection, negotiation of contracts, and procurement of materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery. Lead and manage a team of buyers, providing guidance, support, and training as needed to ensure high performance and adherence to departmental goals. Implement inventory control measures to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and reduce carrying costs. Coordinate with production, sales, and other departments to forecast demand and ensure adequate inventory levels to meet production schedules and customer orders. Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors, evaluating performance, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities for improvement. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to materials management. Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and distribution of materials, to ensure efficient and effective utilization of warehouse space and resources. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall efficiency in materials management operations. Prepare regular reports and analyses on materials management performance, including key metrics such as inventory turnover, stock accuracy, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, with demonstrated experience in purchasing, inventory control, and warehouse management. Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and developing teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in inventory management software and other relevant tools/systems. Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and best practices in materials management.
