About The Job

The Tepa Companies is seeking a Vice President of Southeast Construction Operations to work closely with the Executive Vice President of the Southeast Region as needed to assist with business development, management, operations, staff, and production needs to:

Help promote the Tepa culture to employees and clients. Provide strategic direction and input to identify and pursue potential business opportunities. Assist with the overall management of personnel and operations in alignment with Tepa’s vision, core values, and goals. Provide project management as needed and help develop the personnel and project management skills of others.

Job responsibilities include:

Partner with the Executive Vice President of the Southeast Construction Region to implement direct management processes including, but not limited to, business development direction, contract management, and program/project team oversight. Assist with development of business plans and assist the Executive Vice President of the Southeast Construction Region to meet the approved plans accordingly. Help manage the overall direction of the Southeast Construction Region to meet or exceed approved business plans. Conduct business development meetings with clients and attend conferences to ensure Tepa’s position within the market and upcoming contracts. Assist with cost estimating and conduct review of estimates by others. Develop Go-No Go meetings and proposal/bid preparations for business opportunities. Conduct review of project budgets and forecasting. Provide input on the selection of team members and subcontractor(s). Assist the Executive Vice President of the Southeast Construction Region, Tepa Talent Management, and Human Resources to assure Tepa can hire, coach/counsel, and terminate employees and subcontractors as needed. Mentor employees and summer interns. Assist project managers with technical issues, scheduling, cost control measures, and administrative and customer service skills. Assist the Executive Vice President of the Southeast Construction Region in providing direction as needed in response to the customer/job issues or site concerns. Help the Executive Vice President of the Southeast Construction Region ensure that Tepa is well apprised of all shortages/overages on budgets in a timely manner. Attend contract negotiations and contract dispute meetings as necessary. Travel as needed to active projects, assess status, and assure the client that Tepa leadership is involved. Travel to Tepa meetings as requested. Perform project management duties for specific projects. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Vice President of the Southeast Construction Region or executive leadership.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, or other related field and/or 8+ years’ experience in a similar management-level position. 10+ years’ experience developing cost estimates and developing proposals/bids. 10+ years’ experience managing project teams as well as subcontractors. 5+ years direct experience in progressively responsible positions with a strong emphasis on government contract management. Previous Tepa project management experience Previous experience in a construction management or professional services organization Experience in an 8(a) organization Proven planning and problem-solving skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to keep and maintain confidential and secure records and information
