Position Information Working Title: Student Success Coordinator Position Number: FA337 FLSA: Exempt Appointment Type: Full Time Sensitive Position: No Campus Security Authority: Yes Chief Objective of Position: The Student Success Coordinator will support the University’s student success initiatives by providing a variety of services and programs targeted at creating and maintaining a supportive learning environment for undergraduate students to improve retention, completion, and post-graduation outcomes. Work Tasks Assists with creation, implementation, and maintenance of a variety of student success orientation programs and support services for all undergraduate students. Assists with the instructional component of college transition courses, COLL 140: The Transitional Learner and COLL 150: The Intentional Learner, on an as-needed basis. Researches, develops, assesses, and implements best practices in student success support services and programs for undergraduate college students. Assists with various orientation programs for new college freshmen and transfer students. Provides support and programming for the Community Captains Program and Captains’ Connection Program. Maintains a caseload of undergraduate students, conducting individual meetings and creating personal action plans for student success. Monitors the progress of at-risk students and develops intervention plans. Maintains “drop in” hours for students needing immediate assistance. Develops and conducts various workshops and programs to support undergraduate student success. Participates in the Division’s “recruit back” program to encourage re-enrollment. Develops programs for special undergraduate populations to support retention and completion. Maintains detailed records of meetings and outreach activities. Stays current on student success literature and participates in professional development opportunities. Assists the Director with the administration of assessments and marketing for support services. Serves as a representative at admission-related events and university-wide events. Assists in planning and supporting events related to student success initiatives. Demonstrates exemplary customer service with students, parents, faculty, alumni, and staff. This position is designated as a “responsible employee” who must report incidents of sexual violence. Follows workplace safety regulations and immediately reports unsafe conditions. Performs all other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA's) Verbal, written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills. Ability to create and maintain relationships and build trust. Organizational and time management skills. Ability to master various computer applications quickly. Ability to work effectively as part of a team or individually. Availability for evening and weekend programs. Knowledge of student success, retention, and completion strategies. Required Education Master’s Degree; or a Bachelor’s degree and related experience that equates to an advanced degree. Experience Required Experience working with students in a mentoring, coaching, or advising capacity. Salary Information Starting at $47,966, commensurate with education and experience.
