What does the Information Technology (IT) Auditor do? (including but not limited to):

Under general supervision, IT Auditor will assist the organization by governing internal controls within IT technology systems. The IT Auditor will safeguard information by identifying risk areas and create strategies to prevent breaches. This position will examine the organization's technology solutions to ensure sufficient controls are kept, security of data stored or transported. The IT Auditor will classify technology issues and provide additional recommendations to management with solutions to address any risk areas. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Review all provided documented data flow documents.
  • Ensure Data is received by requested timeline.
  • Facilitate remediation of faulty data flows
  • Incorporate the use of API's as they become available.
  • Protection and Use/Disclosure of Practice Data
    • Ensure Texas Oncology data is used only in approved fashion.
  • Ensure proper level of segregation of Texas Oncology Practice Data
  • Offshore Storage, Transmission, Access and Use of Practice Data
    • Ensure the maintenance of the Matrix of Texas Oncology applications showing location of At-Rest data and Off-shore access.
  • PRN infrastructure
    • Maintain documents outlining Application data flow diagrams.
    • Track Vendor Security assessments to ensure timeliness of required updates.
    • Ensure the TXO infrastructure meets defined security requirements.
  • Track New Solution requests.
  • Audits and Compliance Certifications
    • Ensure published McKesson Security Policies and Standards are followed.
    • Participate in Annual compliance audit and work with McKesson to remediate identified deficiencies.
  • Access Logging/Access Reporting
    • Work with McKesson to ensure Applicable access logging is in place with proper reporting.
  • Review and ensure Published McKesson standards and policies are followed.
  • Ensure receipt of requested Practice data conforms to stated business requirements.
  • Report on internal IT controls, evaluate the design and operational effectiveness, determine exposure to non-conformity of business requirements, and develop remediation strategies.
  • Monitor security and network controls.
  • Respond to all data flow concerns and/or SLO/SLA breach of targets.
  • Participate in the change management process.
  • Test and identify network and system vulnerabilities develop remediation plan.
  • Facilitate regular audit testing and provide recommendations.
  • Review, evaluate, and test application monitoring and controls.
  • Review, evaluate, and test user access Monitoring and controls.
  • Provide recommendations and guidance on identified security and control risks.
  • Develop a strong understanding of business and system processes and data flow.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certified HIPAA privacy security expert (CHPSE) preferred.
