Mission Contribution:
Strengthens the families of children with and without disabilities enrolled in the CDC by ensuring quality childcare and supportive services.
Function:
This position is responsible for coordinating the delivery of quality childcare services and overseeing center operations.
Essential Functions:
Hires, trains, and supervises the Child Development Center staff giving them oral and written communications regarding work performance as necessary.
Obtains and maintains regulatory standards regarding policies and procedures from the Department of Human Resources for Daycare Licensure.
Designs, coordinates, and communicates staffing schedules and assignments which provide adequate supervision of children, effective teamwork, and efficient use of resources.
Maintains accountability of inventory of supplies and materials essential to the operation of the program and follows proper procedures for new acquisitions and purchases.
Follows proper accounting procedures for receiving and posting payments, preparing deposits, and other financial transactions and ensures that records are submitted accurately and in a timely manner.
Markets the program and recruits potential enrollees through community networking, involvement with local agencies, parents, and other service providers involved in early care and education.
Ensures that programming for children enrolled for special education services is appropriately provided based upon identified strengths and needs of the child and in compliance with the child's individual educational plan.
Coordinates these services with the local education agency representative, therapists, early intervention staff, or other service providers in the community.
Provides appropriate instruction, guidance, and feedback to center staff regarding classroom schedules, procedures, behavior management, curriculum, and parent communications to ensure quality programming consistent with Goodwill's mission, philosophy, policies, and standards.
Provides statistical, financial, and programmatic reports as scheduled in a timely and efficient manner, including those pertaining to the Mobile County Public School System, Childcare Management Agency, Goodwill accounts receivable dept., and the Goodwill Program Services Database.
Plans, develops, and coordinates a yearly program calendar which reflects a variety of enriching, educational, and extracurricular activities for children, families, and staff.
Maintains effective communications with staff, parents, and community service providers through the use of conferences, emails, newsletters, memos, etc.
Stays current on issues pertaining to early care, child development, and special education by participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities including seminars, conferences, in-house training, and through personal research.
Plans, develops, and coordinates training opportunities and professional development activities for CDC staff to promote quality programming within the center and for community participants attempting to obtain a CDA.
Coordinates and hosts Children's Trust Fund events by recruiting speakers, scheduling enrichment events, and respite outings for family support participants.
