Description

Summary

Under general supervision of the Human Relations Manager, performs duties in the following functional areas: HRIS Management (Paylocity), FMLA tracking, ADA requests, training, performance management, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance. The Human Resources Generalist will aid the Chief People Officer maintain Human Resources functions in the Manager's absence. This is a full-time, exempt position with a starting salary of $50,382 plus excellent benefits.

Job Duties (Essential Functions)

  1. Manages human resource information system records: compiles reports from the HRIS database; completes global imports; makes process change suggestions to improve efficiency or to help meet strategic goals.
  2. Administers FMLA, including confirming eligibility, reviewing certifications, and sending designation notices to ensure compliance with DOL regulations.
  3. Acts as point person for ADA requests, facilitating universally approved accommodation requests and assisting employees through interactive process, based on the guidance and approval provided by HREE management .
  4. Helps Library personnel interpret procedures to ensure compliance.
  5. Assists with the assigning and monitoring of the performance evaluation program.
  6. Reports and logs information to conform to EEO regulations; files EEO-4 report annually; maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  7. Responds to salary survey requests on behalf of the Library.
  8. Works closely with the Talent Acquisition Specialist to conduct recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, substitutes and temporary employees ensures continued function in the Talent Acquisition Specialist's absence.
  9. Handles employee relations as delegated.
  10. Generates reports to meet internal need, including: aiding in DEI efforts while ensuring employee privacy, assisting in financial or labor audits, completing department self audits to ensure data integrity. May also need to create standard reports to aid other departments or to support the Library's strategic plan.
  11. Develops user procedures, guidelines and documentation related to HRIS. Trains staff on new processes/functionality.
  12. Assists with HREE administrative tasks, as delegated .
  13. Maintains compliance with federal, state and local regulations as well as organizational policy .
  14. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

This job is mostly sedentary with some lifting, bending, and filing.

Little to no travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience:

A bachelor's degree related to Human Resources and 2 years human resources experience or five years' human resource experience with increasing levels of responsibility, other similar combination of education and experience will be considered. Certification preferred (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, IPMA-CP or IPMA-SCP)
