HR EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANT POSITION DESCRIPTION Reporting To: HR Operations ManagerVersion: August 2024 Function: Human ResourcesDepartment: Operational Location: HawaiiScope: Hawaii PURPOSE As the HR Employment Assistant you will assist the HR Recruiter with staffing objectives by tracking status of applicants and conducting post-offer background checks on job applicants. Conducts conviction record checks for all promotions and coordinates scheduling of oral drug testing if applicable. Assists in the completion of onboarding paperwork. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Individual Process background check requests by obtaining federal, state and sex offender criminal records online. Conducts employment verification calls to previous employers for management position job offers. Coordinates drug testing for all management position job offers and promotions. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of the background check files. Assists new hires with onboarding paperwork completion. Assists HR Recruiter in any tasks needed to meet staffing objectives. Advise manager of any/all work related injuries, accidents, near misses and hazards or potential hazards (including any faults to equipment), and risks or potential risks to health and safety. Professional Job Profile Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources or Business Business/Technical Skills Experience working in a Recruitment or HR team An understanding of employment-related legislation Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Ability to undertake and complete projects with minimal supervision This Position Description summarizes the primary responsibilities of this role at the time of commencement.
