Senior Accountant

About the Opportunity: Our client, a leading construction company, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their financial team. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your accounting expertise in a dynamic, project-based environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage job costing for multiple construction projects
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
  • Coordinate with project managers to track budgets and forecasts
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
  • Ensure compliance with construction-specific accounting standards and regulations
  • Assist in audit preparation and liaison with external auditors
  • Implement and maintain internal controls
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, with construction industry experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, job costing, and percentage of completion method
  • Proficiency in construction-specific accounting software and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective communication skills to interact with various stakeholders
  • Experience with contract review and change order processing a plus
