Senior Accountant
About the Senior Accountant Position: The Senior Accountant will be instrumental in the monthly financial close process and will collaborate closely with upper management. This position is designed for growth, providing the Senior Accountant with the chance to engage with executive leadership. The role has been newly established in response to the company's expansion and achievements, making it an ideal opportunity to enhance your accounting expertise. Our client operates within the construction industry and seeks a cooperative team member who values collaboration. The company places a strong emphasis on its culture, and we are looking for an individual who thrives in a supportive, family-oriented environment. The base salary ranges from $75,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience, and the position includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
- Reconcile essential balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and various profit and loss statements
- Prepare and post journal entries, both standard and non-standard
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in the general ledger
- Participate in the month-end closing process
- Manage fixed assets and leases
- Assist the VP of Finance in compiling schedules related to the monthly close, such as work in process
- Engage in accounting and finance projects as opportunities arise
Qualifications and Requirements for the Senior Accountant:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Familiarity with general accounting practices
- CPA certification is a plus
- Experience in public accounting is advantageous
