Senior Accountant, Inventory Control

Description
Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the financial inventory systems. Coordinates with Finance, IT, Store Support, Merchandising, Planning & Allocation and the Distribution Center staff to ensure inventory is correctly stated in multiple systems.
Responsible for various Accounting functions and activities including monthly and weekly balancing between multiple systems.
Identifies system and user errors, performs in depth research to determine cause and takes proper steps to resolve issues.
Interacts with multiple departments resolving issues and supporting processes related to inventory management.
Acts as a primary liaison with the IT department to perform testing, verification, and issue resolution during development projects related to inventory systems.
Directly participates in various aspects of the month end close process as it relates to inventory.
Prepares month end journal entries and account reconciliations.
Conducts comprehensive ad hoc analysis to support the preparation of executive level presentations and communications.
Assists with the reconciliation of store inventories and retail shrinkage analysis.
Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Three to five years Accounting experience required. Retail and Inventory Control experience with a focus on RMA (Retail Method of Accounting) preferred. 3. Excellent PC skills including MS Office Suite, and AS400 required.
Experience with data warehouse application and Microstrategy preferred.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills required.
SAP experience preferred.
