The Financial Analyst is responsible for the overseeing of the accounts payables and receivables. You will assist with coordinating the audit of the City, reconciliation of bank accounts, preparing of financial reports and documents, and performs a variety of other accounting and clerical tasks as assigned.                                                                                           

  • Managing/Overseeing the general ledger, journal entries, and financial reports.
  • Overseeing/Managing the city’s bank accounts; Overseeing the reconciliation of the city’s accounts.
  • Assisting with the annual audits.
  • Overseeing the accounts payable and accounts receivable of the city.
  • Prepare monthly reports for Council, issue petty cash vouchers and issue any other miscellaneous billings.
  • Assists the executive board with any administrative tasks.
  • Assists with the Fund income statements and trial balances.
  • Assists with the month end and year end closings.
  • Protects the City’s value by keeping sensitive information discrete and confidential.
  • Performs all other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excel experience is a must, because the employee will have to know how to create Spreadsheets and word processing software.
  • Must have knowledge of the method, procedures, and policies of the City as they pertain to the performance duties associated with this position or Accountant
  • Possess planning and organizational abilities, multi-tasking, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Quality communication and interaction skills when dealing with co-workers and/or public.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of office equipment in preparing reports, correspondence and maintain accurate, up-to-date records in an efficient filing system.
  • Communication and verbal skills a must, as well as must be able to work successfully with a municipal finance team.
  • Work under stressful conditions, react calmly and quickly in emergency situations, and aid fellow employees, as necessary.
  • Learn and utilize new skills and information to improve job performance and efficiency.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize daily assignments and work activities.
