**Positions Supervised:** Processors, Underwriters, Closers
**POSITION SUMMARY**
Overall responsibility for the leadership and management of timely and efficient processing, underwriting and closing of all mortgage and consumer loans. Ensures quality customer service and compliance with regulations and Bank policies. Supervises and Underwrites loan requests within policy guidelines and recommends exceptions as appropriate. Oversee all Operational functions, including but not limited to, monitoring performance metrics, promoting operational efficiencies and pipeline management.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
Manages assigned Retail Lending Operations personnel by:
* Insuring that the Department is adequately staffed with properly trained personnel.
* Making or approving decisions for Department employees regarding employment, performance ratings, promotions, salary recommendations, transfers and terminations.
* Resolving personnel problems, particularly those of a more complex nature.
* Guiding and advising subordinates in the more complex phases of work.
* Provides coaching and training
* Coordinating the activities of the Department with other Departments of the bank.
* Suggests, develops and implements new products relating to the mortgage lending area.
* Streamline processes and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance
* Resolves customer or Branch questions or concerns.
* Reviews and approves requests for subordination from outside lenders
* Works within Encompass to streamline mortgage process
* Recommends updates and new policies.
* Monitors construction loan advances and holdback accounts.
* Oversees contracts and pricing for Secondary Market commitments
* Assists in answering internal audits relating to mortgage/consumer loans and purchased mortgages.
* Underwrites all mortgage, home equity and other consumer loans to approved lending limit.
* Implements policies, procedures and products and ensures Westfield Banks Retail Lending Product Guide is current
* Performs pre-purchase review of all loans to be purchased.
* Maintains consumer loan program to ensure compliance.
* Must complete BSA, AML, and other Regulatory Training and Continuing Education as assigned.
* Must adhere to all bank and regulatory policies and procedures specific to position.
* Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

* Must complete OFAC Training & CIP Training
* Complete Fair Lending, Truth in Lending and RESPA training as they apply to mortgage lending
* Mandatory registration with the NMLS (National Mortgage Licensing System)
