SALARY

The position has a compensation range of $87,190 to $130,795 per year. Negotiation is available for those with exceptional experience.

This position is available to work on a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office/ 2 days at home) after an agreed training period.

JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for coordinating the HR functions within the airline, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws. The role requires a deep understanding of the aviation industry's outstanding HR needs and the ability to work in a fast-paced, vibrant environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support and assist the HR Director in all HR functions as a productive team member capable of taking on responsibilities with or without supervision with authoritative communication and professionalism.
  • Create and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent for various positions within assigned operating companies.
  • Perform tasks and guidance for all areas of the recruiting and/or onboarding processes, systems, and duties as necessary.
  • Assist in leading, mentoring, training other department team members in all aspects of human resources tasks and procedures or as identified by the HR senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and ensure timely hiring.
  • Lead compliance for federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR standard methodologies.
  • Assists employees and leaders at all levels pertaining to the interpretation and application of policies and procedures.
  • In coordination with the HR Director, assists supervisors and managers with coaching and counseling situations and employment separation as needed.
  • Responsible for the distribution of Company ID and airport badges; maintains badge records for applicable operating companies as directed, and various contractors requiring building and airport access; primary NAC contact to Anchorage Airport Badge Office.
  • Conducts research and prepares reports for EEO, AAP, and other regulatory agencies as required.
  • Manages workers compensation program.
  • Lead and/or support the HR department in the implementation and maintenance of audit programs that maintain compliance with all applicable laws and regulations such as EEO, ADA, FMLA, W/C, mandated drug/alcohol testing programs, airport security and OSHA for all operating companies as necessary.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • 4-6 years equivalent level experience as manager of Human Resources, including prior experience with auditing of records and supporting compliance with regulatory and/or contractual requirements.
  • Undergraduate university degree in business, human resources, or related field is helpful. Extensive experience may be considered as a substitute.
  • A professional certification in HR (i.e. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred. Combination of education or experience may be substituted at company discretion.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human resource management, including governance of common industry employee services functions.
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills to communicate with a wide variety of audiences, regulatory agencies, contractors, company-wide peers, subordinates, and others.
  • Advanced knowledge of working with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) preferably UKG Recruiting Gateway.
  • Ability to calculate and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Proficiency in using HRIS systems, UltiPro preferred, including reporting functionality (Cognos preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Travel out of state and/or within the state of AK for this position; approximately 0-10% of the time.
  • Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.
