Job Title: Senior Plant Accountant Job Summary:

The Senior Plant Accountant is responsible for managing the plant's accounting activities, including cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. This role involves close collaboration with plant management to support operational and financial decision-making, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for budget-to-actual differences.
    • Ensure accuracy and integrity of the plant's financial data.
  2. Cost Accounting:

    • Oversee the cost accounting processes, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis.
    • Monitor and analyze production costs and recommend cost-saving measures.
    • Maintain and update standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
  3. Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
    • Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions as needed.
    • Provide financial projections and analysis to support business planning.
  4. Internal Controls and Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
    • Maintain and enhance internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
    • Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
  5. Plant Operations Support:

    • Collaborate with plant management to provide financial insights and support operational decision-making.
    • Conduct financial analysis of plant projects, including capital expenditures and process improvements.
    • Assist in developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) for the plant.
  6. Team Leadership and Development:

    • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment within the accounting team.
  7. Ad-Hoc Projects and Analysis:

    • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
    • Provide financial analysis and support for various strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-7years of accounting experience, with at least 1years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
    • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis tools.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
