Audit & Assurance Partner

Summary of Job Function

Team members in LGA's audit and assurance department work extensively on audits, reviews, and compilation engagements in various owner-managed businesses. If you are passionate about being impactful to your clients, while working in a collaborative and fun environment, this is the perfect opportunity to develop enhanced audit and assurance skills with direct client contact in a team environment.

Responsibilities and Skills:
  • Experience in planning and performing audits, reviews, and compilation engagements.
  • Familiarity with accounting and auditing procedures and a general understanding of GAAP.
  • Familiarity with accounting and auditing procedures under IFRS is a plus, not required.
  • Well versed in the preparation and/or review of financial statements.
  • Experience in both the preparation and review of audit documentation, workpapers, testing, etc.
  • Ability to obtain an understanding of various clients' accounting systems and internal control systems and the ability to identify areas for improvement, internal control deficiencies, areas susceptible etc.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple client projects and multiple engagement teams, especially during busy seasons which includes traveling to client sites.
  • Ongoing commitment to continuing education and professional growth.
  • Mentor, train, and supervise other audit & assurance staff.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years' work experience in audit & assurance.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with colleagues, partners, and clients.
  • Ongoing commitment to continuing education and professional growth.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment as well as being self-motivated.
  • A desire to develop trusted client relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for excellence.
  • Positive attitude focused on enhancing the firm's culture and an open-mindedness to change.
Additional Qualifications/Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products with a proficiency in Excel.
  • CCH Suite of Products is a plus: Pro-Fx Tax, Engagement, Document, Portal.
  • Experience with DataSnipper is a plus.
  • Comfortable working with technology and operating in a paperless office.
Education and Experience:
  • BS/BA in Accountancy or related concentrations.
  • Master's in Accountancy or a plan to pursue is a plus.
  • CPA certification or a plan to pursue.
