The Role
The Industrial Cleaning Crew (ICC) associate is a member of the Paint, Equipment Maintenance Team working in the Paint production department.
ICC associates participate in specialized procedures for the cleaning and maintenance of the entire Paint shop and all production equipment used in the Paint department. The ideal candidate has a proven record of success in hands-on cleaning of production equipment, has a sense of urgency in the completion of assigned duties, is proactive in seeking out new assignments, and takes pride in their hands-on capabilities, attention to detail, and appreciates an environment where superior work is encouraged, noticed, and rewarded.
Responsibilities:
* General cleaning of the entire paint shop and all production equipment
* Complete standard work process and follow work instructions and procedures, and rotating as required.
* Locking out/tagging out equipment
* Timely escalating health/safety concerns or issues to team leads and management on the day of the event
* Follow Hazardous Waste handling and disposal procedures.
* Capable of ascending and descending elevated heights (ladders, scaffolding, etc.) safely.
* Scraping heavy paint build up with the use of hand tools/power tools, including high pressure washers (5,000 psi) and ice blasters.
* Removing of floor grating with paint build up
* Dust mopping
* Wet mopping
* Changing paint robot covers
* Removing trash from the paint shop
* Scrape heavy paint build up in paint booths
* Removing/replacing paint filters in paint under booth, air houses, and other equipment
* Exemplary attendance and punctuality are crucial for the team to achieve success.
Work Environment/Essential Physical Demands
* Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day including but not limited to:
* Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs.
* The ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs.
* Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install vehicle parts of varying size and weight overhead, accurately and in allotted timeframes.
* Ability to frequently stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain.
* Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day.
* Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures.
* Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing.
* With appropriate PPE, exposure to hazardous materials used in the painting process and ability to follow waste handling/disposal procedures. Exposures to confined space and elevated height work.
* Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, hearing protection, full-face respirators, gloves, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines.
* Open to schedule flexibility that will allow for a variety of shifts, including days, nights, overnight, and/or weekends as needed as well as potential overtime.
* Ability to work in a team-oriented production or manufacturing environment, including exhibiting strong interpersonal and communication skills with your teammates.
* Ability and willingness to maintain a safe and collaborative work environment.
Requirements
* Previous hands-on experience in the cleaning of industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to learn new skills & adapt to new work environments.
* Comfortable learning new technology.
* High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, or evidence of exceptional ability.
* Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal.
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
