Overview

SCCI is looking for an Information Assurance (IA) Specialist to join our team as a key member of a high-performing DoD Weapons team The successful candidate must be knowledgeable of cybersecurity policies and procedures for Department of Defense (DoD) Information Systems (IS) as well as Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes and procedures within the Risk Management Framework (RMF), and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities:

The IA Specialist is responsible for conducting information systems security activities to obtain and maintain a Government Interim Authority to Test (IATT) and Authority to Operate (ATO) throughout the baseline/program's lifecycle. This includes capturing and refining information protection requirements to ensure the integration into the applicable IS adheres to the defined security design / configuration. The responsibilities also include the following, not limited to:
  • Implement, manage, and support the IS needs for the designated program
  • Assist with periodic testing to evaluate the security posture of the IS
  • Ensure compliance of current IA policies, concepts, and measures when designing, procuring, adopting, and developing existing and new ISs
  • Maintain a working knowledge of system functions, security policies, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures.
  • Familiar with A&A process and RMF
  • Perform Quality Assurance and Software Validation activities for development feature set releases and will collaborate with engineering and design teams to deliver a quality product that meets the requirements
  • Effectively correspond with internal team members and customer/external team members by following established communication/correspondence protocols
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an Active Secret Security Clearance
  • High School Diploma
  • Must have at least one (1) of the following certifications: CompTIA Sec+, CISM, CISSP, SSCP, GSEC, CASP, GSLC, CAP
  • Minimum of three (3) years of IT specific experience with the DoD or Navy. This experience shall include:
    • Vulnerability analysis
    • Risk analysis
    • Accreditation of systems and
    • Audits
  • Must be familiar with A&A process and RMF workflows
  • Familiarity with DoD systems such as enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) and scanning tools such as Retina or Nessus
  • Experience and credentials required supporting the documentation, validation, and accreditation processes necessary to assure that new IT systems meet the organization's information assurance and security requirements
  • Must have working knowledge of system functions, security policies, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures.
