Position Summary
SOUTHEASTERN COMP CONSULTANTS INC is seeking a skilled Information Assurance Specialist to contribute to our high-performing team focused on Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cybersecurity regulations and protocols applicable to DoD Information Systems (IS), along with expertise in Assessment and Authorization (A&A) methodologies within the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
Key Responsibilities:
The Information Assurance Specialist will be tasked with executing security measures for information systems to secure and uphold a Government Interim Authority to Test (IATT) and Authority to Operate (ATO) throughout the lifecycle of the program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the implementation, management, and support of information systems for designated projects.
- Conducting regular assessments to analyze the security posture of the information systems.
- Ensuring adherence to current information assurance policies and practices during the design, procurement, and development of information systems.
- Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of system functionalities, security policies, technical safeguards, and operational security protocols.
- Familiarity with the A&A process and RMF workflows.
- Executing Quality Assurance and Software Validation tasks for new feature releases, collaborating with engineering and design teams to ensure product quality meets established requirements.
- Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, adhering to established communication protocols.
- U.S. Citizenship and possession of an Active Secret Security Clearance.
- High School Diploma.
- At least one of the following certifications: CompTIA Sec+, CISM, CISSP, SSCP, GSEC, CASP, GSLC, CAP.
- A minimum of three years of relevant IT experience within the DoD or Navy, including:
- Vulnerability assessments.
- Risk assessments.
- System accreditation processes.
- Conducting audits.
- Familiarity with DoD systems such as enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) and scanning tools like Retina or Nessus.
- Experience in supporting documentation, validation, and accreditation processes to ensure compliance with information assurance and security standards.
- Proficient understanding of system functionalities, security policies, technical safeguards, and operational security measures.
