Training Specialist - Aegis SPY RADAR AWS Instruction Specialist
HOW A TRAINING SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Delivers engaging instruction and assessment that necessitates in-depth understanding of U.S. Navy Aegis Combat Systems capabilities and limitations at the officer level.
Conducts thorough reviews and evaluations of U.S. Navy Aegis Combat System Engineering capabilities and limitations, integrating operational and tactical doctrine to enhance the application of ship's combat systems in dynamic environments.
Performs assessments of sailors' adherence to established maintenance and operational protocols, providing formal evaluations with constructive feedback and strategies for enhancing technical and tactical skills.
Observes and evaluates peers during practice and certification training as per NAVEDTRA 135 requirements.
Prepares, reviews, and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guides to support traditional classroom instruction.
Facilitates course reviews and curriculum updates, conducting training gap analyses and offering formal feedback for course enhancements via NKO COP.
Documents training activities, detailing individual performance in various areas and generating formal assessments of success through written reports.
Develops, tests, maintains, and delivers moderately complex Aegis training programs and associated materials in alignment with ATRC training objectives.
Establishes and reviews course content and objectives, conducting training sessions and developing criteria for evaluating training effectiveness.
Maintains records of training activities, participant progress, and program efficacy, while staying updated on relevant technologies as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education - Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field, or an equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or military experience.
Qualifications - Seven (7) years of experience with the required system as either a maintenance technician supervisor or operator supervisor, responsible for instructing others in a journeyman-level training environment.
Of the seven years, one (1) year must be as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, including curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing assessment items, evaluating instructional materials, and providing academic counseling to students.
Additional qualifications:
CSC qualified and NEC 1341/V46A (AWS BL 5) or NEC 1361/V58A (AWS BL7) or NEC 1107/V09A (SPY BL 8) or NEC 1388/V71A (SPY BL 9) or NEC 1387/V70A (SPY BL 9 DIFF) or NEC 1113/V13A and NEC 9502/805A (Instructor).
Preferred but not required NECs include (SPY BMD 3.6) or NEC 1093/V04A BMD or NEC 1093/V04A (BMD 4.0) or NEC 1387/V70A (SPY BMD 5.0). Previous experience as a trainer/instructor in support of SCSTC/ATRC/TACTRAGRU is a significant advantage. Must be capable of supporting training and standing for extended periods while instructing. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time. Must be physically fit to embark on a ship for 5-10 days.

The likely salary range for this position is $80,226 - $103,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
