This Diesel Powertrain Calibration Engineer position involves evaluating, assessing, testing, & optimizing vehicle attributes.
* Modify vehicle and powertrain calibrations to meet attributes including emissions, drivability, performance, diagnostics, fuel economy, and NVH. This can be on vehicles and/or in engine dynamometer test cells
* Responsibilities could include specialization in Engine combustion setpoints, SCR Aftertreatment operation, DPF Regen Mode operation and temperature control, CAN communications, and diagnostics calibration meeting requirements based on robust statistical metrics
* Perform data analysis and regress model calibrations with large data sets & communicate conclusions
* Interface with software algorithm suppliers (internal and external) to evaluate new features prior to development process
* Calibrate and sign-off features for future model year Diesel programs
* Document progress and methods used to calibrate & validate features within assigned responsibility
* Use models and simulation to reduce testing and optimize powertrain calibrations
* Position may require travel to remote development locations (Arizona/Canada/Colorado/Florida) for vehicle testing - approximately 2 weeks per trip and 3 trips per year
