Supervises personnel assisting with the inventory process, ensures inventory is properly ordered, received, counted, stored, and distributed, and processes invoices for payment, reviews inter departmental charges for accuracy, and maintains borrow/lend accounts. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard Strong interpersonal skills Job Duties Maintains inventory on hand at lowest possible level capable of meeting normal demand while keeping stock-out costs to a minimum. Tracks daily statistics such as census, revenue, purchases and actual stock-out costs. Maintains an accurate inventory of all non-controlled medications and supplies and purchases supplies such that required items are available for dispensing as needed. Expedites all purchase orders for timely delivery including procurement of medications that have stocked out and reviews vendor invoices prior to payment, verifying quantities and pricing and determining appropriate expense coding. Assess accuracy of ordering and receiving processes to ensure appropriate quantities and avoid overstock. Monitors and assesses reasons for stock outages and provides feedback to pharmacy management for preventing future outages. Participates in projects as appointed by the Director of Pharmacy Services and/or Distribution Manager. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
