Early Learning Center Site Coordinator

Description

Under the supervision of the ELC Program Director, this position is responsible for roles of providing administrative support, grant administration and classroom support. This is a 40 hour a week position.

Candidates will be responsible for:

1.Effectively communicate the mission, vision and values of the Wichita YMCA.
2. Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Early Learning Center, this includes but is not limited to; monitoring child files, assessment of data entry, support procurement, family engagement and regulatory compliance.
3. Classroom duties will include, but are not limited to, creating and following lesson plans, classroom management, implementing child assessments, providing supervision to classroom assistant and creating a positive learning
environment for children.
4. Supervise staff when in the classroom and when Program Director is not present.
5. Provide effective and positive communications with staff, parents and participants.
6. Attend and participate in all department, branch, and citywide meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
7. Be an active participant in the Strong Community Campaign.
8. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED required

Minimum of 12 hours of academic study or equivalent training in child development, early childhood education, including administration of early childhood programs, AA in ECE or BA or BS in related field preferred

Minimum of one year of experience as a lead teacher in an early learning center

Hold or be able to obtain a KDHE Program Director Approval (PDA) for up to 100 infant/toddler/preschool/ school-age children or youth.

Visual, auditory and verbal ability to communicate effectively

High levels of alertness, concentration and initiative

Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend in addition to withstanding periods of active routines outside

Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds

Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times

Experience supervising adults and/or volunteers
