Job Description: Snavely seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager to join the team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, managing, and performing day-to-day operations of the Human Resource department, and the administration of the companys HR policies, procedures, and programs. The candidate must also have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.

The position offers a competitive compensation package and reports to the Executive Vice President.

Responsibilities: The candidate must:

  • Administer HR policies, procedures, and programs per company standards, review and recommend policy and procedure updates in compliance with federal and state employment regulations
  • Serve as point of contact for branch leadership and employees regarding any HR related issues and/or questions
  • Maintain personnel files and other Human Resources records; ensure files are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and company policies and procedures
  • Provide ongoing HR support, including PTO oversight, unemployment claims and appeals, talent management, benefits administration, Workers Compensation claims, payroll administration, and complaint investigation
  • Monitor federal, state, and local regulations to ensure compliance
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies
  • Assist with employee training, employee relations and development, staff meetings, and other employee-related events
  • Monitor emerging HR trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to implement and enhance HR policies
  • Perform other related administrative duties as required

Requirements: The candidate should:

  • Have PHR or SHRM certification with 4+ years of progressive Human Resources Management experience
  • Hold a bachelors degree in Human Resources or a related field OR have comparable experience
  • Have an HR Generalist background with broad knowledge of employment, compensation, organizational development, employee relations, training and development, and regulatory compliance
  • Possess the ability to objectively coach and counsel employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
  • Have outstanding multi-tasking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to complete difficult assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, organizational, and follow-through skills
  • Have passion and a high sense of urgency about Human Resources customers and providing professional services that advance the core business and employee engagement in the companys success
  • Have the ability to work independently and solve complex problems without direct supervision
  • Have computer proficiency; preferably in Microsoft Office
