When joining UFM, you become part of a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming team who are dedicated to serving our patients and pursuing our mission to deliver excellent healthcare for all and training for the providers of tomorrow.JOB SUMMARY: The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for organizing and coordinating the community partnerships in collaboration with community organizations, collaborative funding partners, UFM staff, and key stakeholders to strengthen community-clinical linkages. Key activities include community events management, recruitment, and participation, general marketing & communication activities, and digital marketing creation and engagement. RequirementsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Implementing community events, developing relationships, reporting, and budgeting of eventsMust be sensitive to community needs and requirements of disenfranchised and social disparities of health within community groups especially in the St. Paul service area by conducting community outreachGreat organizational skills and ability to communicate with multiple community groups with compassion and empathyEffective oral and written communication skills to work across multiple departments and assist with the cohesiveness of UFM leadership, management, clinicians, and supportive staffOrganize local community partnership events from an idea/concept to implementing the program to completion including surveys and evaluations for program effectivenessAttendance at community events may be on the weekends and evenings; work schedule may fluctuate depending on community events scheduleDisseminating appropriate educational/informational materials on culturally specific vaccination materials and use within the communityManage social media and other outreach activities to engage the community relationships for partnerships with UFMComplete monthly reports for program and grant activities provided to Chief Experience OfficerAdhere to ethical, legal, and professional standardsAssist with the creation of an annual strategy for community engagementDevelop and maintain the volunteer and intern programs (includes record keeping, recruitment, screening, matching, and orientation)Train and support staff in volunteer and intern supervisionRecruit fundraising event committee members and assist with event implementationEnsure volunteers, interns, and groups are recognizedTrack data and report stories for all areas of work; prepare regular updates on impact for the leadershipPerform other duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Virtual meeting organization and experience (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.)Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with othersDemonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial and cultural backgroundsExcellent public speaking skills with the capacity to serve as a spokesperson for the organization.Ability to work independently and collaborativelyOrganized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task on a daily basisGeneral work in an office environment and remote workLift, carry, and stock marketing materials and giveawaysTime spent outside of an office and in the communityFlexible work schedule as some evening and weekend work requiredWritten authorization to conduct a criminal background checkValid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and reliable vehicle, a mustEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public health, social work, or health related field preferred or comparable work experienceOne-two years of experience delivering community programs especially in the St. Paul community, strategies, and marketing in populations of cultural, racial, and ethnic diversityCommunity organizing, experience working with cultural, racial, and ethnic diversity of populations and programs, leadership experience a plus2 years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Office, Outlook, and Google required; Blackbaud and E-Tapestry is a preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is performed in a clinic office environment. Contact with staff, patients and outside agencies. Possible exposure to communicable disease and medical preparations common to clinic environment.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:NoneBeginning January 4, 2022, all job offers are conditioned on the candidate being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a vaccine authorized for emergency use or FDA-approved. A person is only considered "fully vaccinated" two weeks after receiving a single J&J vaccine or a second Pfizer or Moderna vaccine shot.
