Foundation Risk Partners, one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage and consulting firms in the US, is adding an Accountant to their Corporate Synergies team in the Philadelphia Metro Region.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an accountant to work in our growing insurance agency accounting department. The accounting department handles all aspects of the accounting cycle, including revenue, expenses, and balance sheet and income statement reporting.

Essential Functions:

  • Experience working in a general ledger environment. This includes processing journal entries and analyzing balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Responsible for bank reconciliations and clearing of outstanding items.
  • Perform income statement account analysis and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Coordination with the General Ledger and Direct Bill teams in regards to cash receipts.
  • Review of client contracts and apply terms to client billings where required.
  • Process American Express (T&E ) statements and process entries in the general ledger for those expenses.
    Other duties as needed:
  • Assist vendor payables team.
  • Support accounting manager and Assistant Controller during month end close.
Competencies & Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of Excel and other MS Office applications. Ability to take Excel spreadsheet to the next level to build unique spreadsheets and apply macros.
  • Knowledge of or proven ability to learn new systems.
  • Knowledge of Applied Epic and Quickbooks online a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
Education & Experience:
  • BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent work experience
  • At least two years of experience working in an accounting department and understands accounting workflows and processes.
