SUMMARY
To help create, preserve and increase shareholder value by providing clear, insightful financial analysis and guidance. Specific roles and responsibilities include: 1) Planning (Strategic Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting); 2) Business analysis and decision support; 3) Performance management; 4) Investment analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning: The planning process should integrate financial, operational and capital planning linking strategies to operational plans using performance metrics. Primary tasks include: 1) Assist in the development of tactical goals and objectives. 2) Assist in developing annual operating budgets. 3) Analyze the effectiveness of tactical actions with external data and feedback to develop short-term forecast of results.
  • Business Analysis & Decision Support: Provide analysis of operating results, trends and key performance indicators to help the business better understand its risks and opportunities. It requires the creative use of information from both internal and external sources to give the organization insight into the progress it is making in achieving its strategic goals. Primary tasks include: 1) Develop and Analyze Product Profitability: 2) Prepare volume, price, cost, mix analysis on products; 3) Analyze monthly operating results and variances from expected results; 4) Analyze spending trends and how effectively we are using company resources.
  • Performance Management: Provide feedback on current performance and highlight: 1) Perform variance analysis against budget, operational and financial metrics; 2) Quantify the impact of alternative courses of action.
  • Investment Analysis: Analyze and evaluate significant capital expenditures and business initiatives to ensure a proper return on investment or business necessity. Primary tasks include: 1) Calculation of project returns and preparation of sensitivity analysis; 2) Preparation of post audits on significant projects as requested.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance or Accounting required
  • Minimum 2 years in finance / accounting experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills. Excellent written skills, including the ability to develop concise and well organized summaries of complex analysis and data. Proficiency in Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint. Proficiency in Access and/or other data mining software preferred.
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
