LOCATION(S): Educational Resources- CTI

DUTIES: Dutchess BOCES' Educational Resources is looking for Professional Development Specialist to enhance our Team An Educational Resources Professional Development Specialist facilitates professional development through workshops, consultancies, roundtables and indistrict trainings as assigned throughout Dutchess County. S/he will work other Professional Development Specialists to design, implement and evaluate a variety of professional learning opportunities. The candidate should hold a K -12 Literacy and/or 7 -12 English certification. Candidates who are fluent in current technology integration and/or have experience with ENL students are encouraged to apply.
  • Plan and facilitate training in a variety of areas, including standards, content and concepts, instruction, culture/climate, and/or technology.
  • Supports training and initiatives connected to Social Emotional Learning benchmarks, the Culturally Responsive Sustaining Education Framework, Literacy, and the Literacy Briefs, and other initiatives as needed.
  • Provide modeling for and/or mentoring of teachers in curriculum planning and delivery that engages students in inquiry and critical thinking skills.
  • Provide indistrict support as needed to Dutchess County school district educators, including administration, in the areas of instruction, curriclum writing and other topics, as requested
  • Attend training or professional development opportunities in or outside of New York State.
  • Design, plan, and facilitate student enrichment activities including conferences, debates, and other functions.

QUALIFICATIONS: Holds a current NYS Teaching Certificate , SAS/SDA/SBL/SDL certification preferred, 5+ years of teaching experience, K-12 Literacy, 7-12 English, or ENL certifications are preferred.

GRADE LEVEL: K-12/ Adult Learners
