If that sounds like a challenge you want to help tackle, we want you to join our team Application Close Date: August 6, 2024 The Opportunity Damage Prevention, under Safety and Technical Services, is a dynamic team of Engineers, Analysts, and Advisors who enhance the safety and protection of TC Energy’s infrastructure by planning and executing Damage Prevention activities on TC Energy’s assets. The team is currently looking to add a Senior Damage Prevention Engineer to provide technical oversight on the interconnected programs. What you’ll do Oversee the planning and execution of damage prevention monitoring and mitigation activities, including aerial patrol, depth of cover & leak detection surveys. Analyze information in support of assessing and managing potential pipeline integrity threats and damage prevention issues. Partner with TC Energy’s regional teams to implement field-based damage prevention activities. Provide technical support to pipeline integrity stakeholders and regional representatives as required. Help to ensure all applicable governing regulations are met in Canada and the US. Communicate and report technical aspects and project work progress to leadership. Provide technical leadership utilizing mature technical knowledge in planning and conducting analysis of significant scope and responsibility. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members. Identify opportunities for improvement, drive continuous technical and process optimization, including leading the development and implementation of program improvement projects. May be required to represent TC Energy on external industry committees. Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree in engineering. Must be registered, or eligible to be registered, as a professional engineer (P. Eng) with APEGA in good standing. Candidates with a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) designation or a P.Tech. (Eng) designation with an appropriate scope of practice, with ASET, may be considered at a different level. 6+ years of related engineering experience. Proven professional experience in pipeline integrity, right-of-way management, and/or damage prevention roles. Preferred Qualifications Project management experience, understanding of pipeline/facility design, and risk analysis. Demonstrated ability in time management, organization, prioritization, decision making, communication, and negotiations, with an emphasis on strong written and oral communication skills, tact, and diplomacy. Proven ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Established ability to problem solve by applying technical principles and developing effective solutions. Thorough understanding of US and Canadian regulations and standards related to pipeline integrity and damage prevention. Demonstrated ability to support improvement initiatives. Fluency in French, both written and oral to support a Canada-wide program. This position requires candidates to: Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review.
