About You and this Role

Dow's Packaging & Specialty Plastics Business presents an exciting opportunity for a Senior Production Engineer to enhance our High-Pressure Copolymer Plants.

Our operations are characterized by growth, investment, and significant business impact. We are strategically positioned within the Dow Gulf Coast sites, providing a platform to expand your skills across various technologies and processes.

In this position, you will act as a Senior Production Engineer for our High-Pressure Copolymer Plant. This role is crucial for Operations, applying technical expertise to optimize plant performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the safe and efficient production of high-quality, cost-effective products. This position requires a comprehensive understanding and practical experience in the field to execute a variety of work assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the operations team, utilizing problem-solving skills and technical knowledge.
  • Enhance and apply understanding of plant operations and technology by referencing historical data and consulting with subject matter experts.
  • Ensure the Most Effective Technology (MET) is comprehended and utilized, leveraging process automation to optimize performance.
  • Utilize established MET while challenging and escalating its application when superior solutions are identified.
  • Work with experts to conduct advanced troubleshooting and enhance operational discipline.
  • Identify and document root causes of asset utilization losses within the facility.
  • Recognize the necessity of specific procedural steps and maintain a strong presence in the field to emphasize their importance.
  • Review daily logbooks and alarm histories to gain insights into plant operations and remain engaged with daily activities.
  • Manage and analyze daily Key Process Indicators (KPI) to ensure optimal performance.
  • Respond promptly to plant issues and emergencies.
  • Serve as a technical expert during unplanned events, driving the implementation of effective corrective and preventative measures.
  • Provide leadership and expertise in optimizing plant Raw Material Efficiency, focusing on yield and waste generation.
  • Ensure compliance with plant operating permits and contribute to site integration for overall system optimization.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is necessary.
  • Applicants must have the legal ability to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
